Two years for all CPR, AED and First Aid courses. Only one year for the Bloodborne Pathogen courses as per California state regulation. BLS recertification classes are available either at our facility or at your workplace in the Sacramento or Roseville area.
Currently, there is a test only for those enrolled in an AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR course. But please don’t worry about the written test, your learning experience in class will most certainly prepare you for a passing test grade.
Yes, if you have completed a full course during your last certification cycle, you may take a recertification course. See our BLS recertification course.
Online training for these courses is acceptable, legal, and ethical under the following conditions; 1) it is blended with a classroom experience (skills session), 2) with a trained and authorized instructor, 3) that the skills session ensures adequate skills practice and a competent skills evaluation in a hands-on testing environment. If a CPR, AED, or First Aid training program is completed by merely an online training, it currently is not accepted by any regulatory agency.
Absolutely! We will make reasonable accommodations for any of our students that have mobility issues based on their limitations and need. Just let your instructor know how he or she can make you more comfortable in your course.
In our classes, all of our students have their own practice adult and infant manikin. You will not be sharing at any time. In addition, we provide you with disposable personal protective barriers (designed for training purposes only) so that your mouth is never touching a manikin’s surface.
Generally, the minimum age to attend a CPR, AED or First Aid course is 12 years.
Our Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) courses are designed for those 11-15 years of age.
The BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR course is 16 years of age and up.
As a parent, should you feel that your child younger than 12 years of age should take the course, please call us to discuss your request.
Yes, we are an EMSA certified agency to train childcare providers and bus drivers. You will receive your certification cards complete with the appropriate CA state stickers upon successful completion of your course.
Absolutely! We are based in Folsom California but take our training classes to facilities and workplaces throughout the greater Sacramento and Roseville area. We are used to teaching groups of all sizes and needs. Contact us for a quote and we will send you everything you need to know.
A blended class is a certified class that allows the student to learn from online instructions first and then come to class for a short hands-on practice and skills session. Many of our classes can be done in a blended way if you are scheduling a group training. Becoming CPR certified requires attending a certification course from an authorized organization. Rescue Training Institute is an authorized organization in the state of California. Our courses teach you how to perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), how to use an AED, and other skills that can be lifesaving in an emergency. The comfort and safety of our clients and team members are always our paramount concern. We have stringent sanitation procedures in place to ensure the safety of everyone in the courses we teach.
Our safety policy includes the following:
- Instructors will disinfect specific training equipment between each class.
- We will continue to have an individual CPR manikin for each student.
- We will continue to use ventilation filters in lieu of face shields.
- Physical distancing will no longer be practiced.
- Group training in scenario based exercises will resume.
At Rescue Training Institute, Inc., we offer a number of Basic First Aid Courses. Our full basic first aid course does not include CPR training and is designed for people who have previously taken a CPR training course before. We also offer a basic first aid course that includes CPR and AED designed for emergency response teams, construction, sports coaches, manufacturing plants, outdoor guides and more. Yes. Once a student completes a first aid, CPR or AED class, they will receive a certification offering proof that they have successfully taken the course. The certification is valid for two years from the date of issue, and after this time, the student must retake the course in order to update and refresh their skills. Per California state regulations, the Bloodborne Pathogen certification is valid for one year.
