Advanced Bleeding Control Class

Traumatic injury is one of the leading causes of death for people under 50 years of age in the USA. A large portion of those deaths are from severe bleeding – the most treatable cause of death due to trauma. This training program is designed to provide detailed instruction on the control of external bleeding, including the use of direct pressure, commercial pressure bandages, tourniquets and packed dressings.

What is Stop the Bleed training?

Stop the Bleed is a national program that teaches civilians how to control life-threatening bleeding in an emergency — before professional help arrives. Rescue Training Institute’s Advanced Bleeding Control class builds on these skills.

Who should take this class?

Anyone who wants to be prepared to respond to a traumatic bleeding emergency, including workplace safety teams, schools, churches, and individuals.

Is this class available at our location?

Yes. On-site group training is available throughout the Sacramento area and most of Northern California. Contact Rescue Training Institute for scheduling.

Do I need prior first aid training to take this class?

No prior training is required. This class is designed to be accessible to anyone.

This class can be added to any CPR or First Aid class that you schedule. Optionally, it can be taught as a stand-alone class at your location.

Intended Audience

Groups and individuals who have a greater than average chance of witnessing an injury event in which heavy bleeding occurs and professional medical care is not readily available or overwhelmed — such as law enforcement, private security, workplace emergency response team personnel, and staff at large events, campuses, or large occupied buildings.

Digital Materials for This Class

After successful completion of the class, the student will receive an email that gives them web access to their HSI Passport, including a digital print of their certification card and a digital download of the student book.
