Emergency Care Lecture
This presentation is titled "Simple Ways to Save a Life".  We present the industry standards of Hands-Only CPR, how to treat for bleeding, shock, and hypo and hyperthermia.  In addition, it teaches an informational module on AED's in your community and what even those not certified in AED can do in an emergency.  This lecture is designed for large audiences.

American Heart Association Training Programs

Heartsaver CPR & AED Adult & Child
This course teaches the one-person techniques of adult & child (ages 1+) CPR and how to help a choking victim. Class will cover the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and stroke, when to start and when to stop CPR, disease transmission and legalities. Students will also learn how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Textbooks can be purchased before, during, or after any of our American Heart Association courses.

Ages: 12+.
Time to complete: 3 hours
Certification card: Valid 2 years


Heartsaver CPR & AED Adult, Child & Infant

Heartsaver First Aid (no CPR)
Heartsaver First Aid is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.The Heartsaver First Aid course is modular to provide the flexibility to meet your training needs. It is a classroom course that is designed to meet OSHA requirements.

Ages: 12+.
Time to complete: 2 hours
Certification card: Valid 2 years


Healthcare Provider CPR
This course will cover all of the above topics. In addition, you will learn the two-rescuer technique and how to use airway-ventilating devices, and how to operate your company AED. Successful completion of a written test is required. Textbooks can be purchased before, during, or after any of our American Heart Association courses. An American Heart Association course participation card valid for two years will be issued from our offices after the class. This class is appropriate for aspiring EMTs, employees of health care facilities, and firefighters.

 Ages: 16+.
 Time to complete: 4-6 hours
 Certification card: Valid 2 years


Blended Training (on-line instruction, classroom practice testing)
This course is designed for recertification for any of the Heartsaver CPR & AED courses as well as the Healthcare Provider CPR course.

Step 1
Go to the American Heart Association website and:
  •  Enroll in the on-line course you wish to take
  •  Complete the training
  •  Print out your on-line training completion certification

Step 2
Register for our Skills Check session for your course (if you took Healthcare Provider on-line, register for Healthcare Provider Skill Check here)

Step 3
Attend your Skills Check classroom session. Bring your on-line training completion certificate to this session. There you will practice your hands-on skills and then be tested on those skills. Once completed, you will receive your AHA CPR certification card.

Ages: 12+ (Healthcare Provider 16 years+)
Time to complete: On-line 1-2 hours, classroom - 1 hour.
Certification card: Valid 2 years

PediatricPlus First Aid and CPR 
MEDIC FIRST AID Pediatric is a child, infant, and adult CPR, first aid & AED emergency medical response-training program. This program follows the skills and instructional methodology of our cornerstone CPR/first aid-training program, MEDIC FIRST AID Basic. PediatricPlus teaches appropriate emergency response skills and prevention strategies for the care of infants and children. Adult care techniques are also included.

This class is approved by CA EMSA & the California State Daycare Licensing division to issue stickers that we affix to your card. The fee is $6 for both stickers (CPR & first aid), which can be paid at class.

Blood borne Pathogen Program
The MEDIC FIRST AID Blood borne Pathogens program is designed to train employees who have a significant health risk of occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious bodily fluids and materials. This training will help employees satisfy training requirements put forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)..

First Aid (no CPR)
This Emergency Care training program is designed to train individuals and corporations that require training in basic first aid skills. This program will provide first aid training to students, giving them the skills necessary to manage illnesses and injuries until the arrival of EMS. Emergency Care is designed to complement cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training in order to meet OSHA requirements for first aid training in the workplace.

Child/Infant CPR and AED Supplement
With the MEDIC FIRST AID Child & Infant CPR and AED Supplement provides additional training in performing CPR and using an AED for students who have already completed CPR and AED training for adults This program is designed to provide the minimum knowledge and skills necessary to manage a cardiac arrest emergency in children less than 8 years old. Additional training is included on caring for foreign body airway obstructions.

Oxygen First Aid for Emergencies
With the MEDIC FIRST AID Emergency Oxygen Supplement, the trained first aid provider will learn the importance of introducing oxygen as an integral part of the care provided for an ill or injured patient. Supplying emergency oxygen helps meet the ill or injured patient’s critical need for oxygen. When illness or injury reduces the body’s ability to process oxygen, shock will soon occur, unless the effects of the decreased amount of oxygen in the blood can be reversed.

Blended Training - BasicPlus CPR, AED and First Aid for Adults
On-Line training & Classroom practice/testing

Note: This course is intended for those that have previously taken a first aid and CPR class.

Part 1
You perform this at the convenience of your own computer. Once registered, you will receive the link and password for your training session. Start it anytime, save it and complete it anytime prior to your classroom date. Simply print out the Part One successful completion certificate and bring it to your classroom practice & testing session. Time: 1-2 hours.

Part 2 & 3
Show up at our classroom and practice the skills you learned on-line, then complete the testing segments. Upon successful completion, you will leave with your certification in hand. Time: 1 hour.

The classroom is located at 1141 Sibley Street, Folsom. Confirmation of your registration and a map of your training location will be emailed to you after your purchase.

Wilderness First Aid
Wilderness environments create special situations not usually encountered in an urban or suburban environment. With ASHI’s Wilderness First Aid, Instructors certified to teach CPR/AED, basic first aid, and have wilderness experience can take advantage of ASHI’s flexible instructional design. This comprehensive 16-20 hour course meets the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid curriculum and guidelines. Follows 2010 Guidelines for CPR and First Aid
